چکیده

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Multicarrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) systems are comparatively evaluated for Power Line Communications (PLC) in a frequency-selective fading environment with additive colored Gaussian noise which is used to model the actual in-home powerline channel. OFDM serves as a benchmark in order to measure the performance of various MC-CDMA systems, since multicarrier modulation systems are considered the best candidate for this kind of channel. Both single-user and multi-user cases are taken into account, making use of the appropriate combiner schemes to take full advantage of each case. System efficiency is enhanced by the application of different coding techniques, a fact which shows that powerful coding can make the difference under such a hostile The authors are with the Department of Telecommunications Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Panepistimioupolis, 541 24 Thessaloniki, Greece. Sensitivity of Multicarrier Systems to Synchronization Errors

In this contribution, we give an overview of the sensitivity of a number of multicarrier systems to carrier and symbol synchronization errors. A comparison is made between orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing/multiple access (OFDM(A)) and two combinations of the orthogonal multicarrier (MC) transmission technique with the code-division multiple access technique (CDMA), i.e. multicarrier C...

Performance Analysis of Mc-cdma and Ofdm in Wireless Rayleigh Channel

Recent advances in wireless communications have made use of MC-CDMA and OFDM techniques to allow for high data rate transmission. Rapid time variations of the wireless communication channel have a effect on the performance of multicarrier modulation. In this paper, we emphasis the Doppler spread and Computes its effect on the bit error rate (BER) for multicarrier code division multiple access (...

Performance Comparison Of Different Pulse Shaping Filters In PAPR Reduction In Multi Carrier Code Division Multiple Access Systems

Future wireless mobile systems are required to transport multimedia traffics at much higher bit rates. Multicarrier (MC) code division multiple access (CDMA) has emerged as a powerful candidate due to its capabilities of achieving high capacity over frequency selective fading channel. It inherits the substantial advantages from both the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and code...

Unified MIMO-Multicarrier Designs: A Space-Time Shift Keying Approach

A survey and tutorial is provided on the subject of multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) multicarrier (MC) systems relying on the space–time shift keying (STSK) concept. We commence with a brief review of the family of MIMO systems, which is followed by the design of STSK systems in the context of MC modulation-based transmissions over dispersive wireless channels. Specifically, the STSK schem...
